9 Celebrities Who Dated Both Men and Women

As Woody Allen once noted, “Bisexuality immediately doubles your chances for a date on Saturday night.” Being open to both opposite- and same-gender relationships not only increases your chances to find a date but also gives you the freedom to not focus on gender but on the personality of a person.

We at Bright Side have made a list of celebrities who decided to pursue this and date people of different genders.

1. Kristen Stewart

Twilight star Kristen Stewart was known for some time for having a relationship with her co-star Robert Pattinson. However, the star was always open to same-gender dating, confusing her fans with her preferences. As Kristen noted herself, “I was one way for a long time and I was not a different way once I started dating other people. Unless you say the words, because words matter, you’re not fully out yet.” Now, Kristen is engaged to screenwriter Dylan Meyer (on the right).

2. Cynthia Nixon

The star of Sex and the City, Cynthia Nixon, was previously in a long-term relationship with schoolteacher Danny Mozes, and they have 2 children together. However, Cynthia never dated women until she fell in love with Christine Marinoni.

Regarding her change in her lovers’ preference, she said: “I don’t really feel I’ve changed. I’d been with men all my life, and I’d never fallen in love with a woman. But when I did, it didn’t seem so strange. I’m just a woman in love with another woman.” Now both women are happily married.

3. Miley Cyrus

Singer Miley Cyrus is known for talking openly about gender-related topics, identity, and love. Although she had a long-term relationship with Liam Hemsworth, with whom she was married, she doesn’t identify herself as straight.

As Miley noted: “People fall in love with people, not gender, not looks, not whatever. What I’m in love with exists on almost a spiritual level.” After her split with Liam, the singer dated blogger Kaitlynn Carter (on the right), however, they broke up later.

4. Shailene Woodley

Throughout her life, actress Shailene Woodley, to our knowledge, dated primarily men, but she was once spotted with Isidora Goreshter with whom she might have had a romantic relationship. However, later it turned out that they were just best friends.

But still, the actress doesn’t exclude the possibility of loving women, as Shailene says: “I fall in love with human beings based on who they are, not based on what they do or what sex they are.” Now, the actress is engaged to Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers.

5. Sarah Paulson

Actress Sarah Paulson is known for her long-running relationship with Holland Virginia Taylor, who is 32 years older than Sarah. However, up until a certain point in her life, the actress only dated males and was even engaged to Tracy Letts (on the left).

But despite her current love preference, Sarah doesn’t want to label herself for fear of being “skewered” if she changes her dating habits: “If my life choices had to be predicated based on what was expected of me from a community on either side, that’s going to make me feel really straitjacketed, and I don’t want to feel that.”

6. Lindsay Lohan

Actress and singer Lindsay Lohan is known for her relationships with men and women. For some time she dated a female DJ, Samantha Ronson (on the left).

However, despite this experience, Lindsay identifies herself as straight: “I know I’m straight. I have made out with girls before, and I had a relationship with a girl. But I think I needed to experience that, and I think I was looking for something different.” Now, the actress is engaged to Bader Shammas (on the right).

7. Demi Lovato

Singer Demi Lovato was known for dating men. The star even announced her engagement to Max Ehrich in 2020, but soon afterward the couple called it off. However, in reality, Demi admits that she may have a romantic attraction to people of all gender identities. At some point in time, the singer allegedly dated a female DJ Lauren Abedini (in the photo above), but for now remains single.

8. Cara Delevingne

The iconic model and actress Cara Delevingne is a vivid example that love has no gender. Her dating list thus far has included both men and women, including Harry Styles, Jake Bugg (in the photo on the left), and Ashley Benson (in the photo on the right). Talking about her preferences, the model says that she eschews labels and her love is person-specific.

Famous singer Ricky Martin had been dating female TV host Rebecca de Alba for 14 years. The couple even had plans to get married and have children. However, this plan stopped short. The man any woman would’ve wanted to marry made his coming out in 2010.

Later, Ricky commented that he is attracted to both men and women, but when it comes to romantic relationships, he chooses to be with a man. Now the singer is happily married to Jwan Yosef and the couple is raising 3 children together.

Do you think that people can like both men and women equally?
